How to get to ENST Bretagne by plane, train, car, EuroTeX bus (from Poland and Germany), ENST bus and municipal bus (from Brest)

[The information below is based on our own personal experience. You can get alternative instructions (in English!) on how to get to ENST Bretagne from the official Web site of the school.]

By plane

The Guipavas airport is located outside Brest. On the Web site of the airport you can find:
  • a map of the airport (but frankly it is hard to get lost in such a small airport);
  • information on where it is located;
  • information on flights, in particular:
    • click here for a list of all arriving flights on June 23th;
    • click here for a list of all departing flights on June 27th;
    • click here for a list of all departing flights on June 28th;
    • click here for a list of all departing flights on June 29th;
  • information on how to get from the airport to town. In short, there is a shuttle (navette) every hour or so (the exact schedule can be found in this PDF file), take it up to station "Liberté". The ride takes about 15 minutes and costs 4,60 euros.

    From there take bus 14:

    and get down at station "Europe":

    The ride takes about 20 minutes and costs 1 euro. You can find the schedule of bus 14 below.

    Please be aware of the fact that we are hiring a bus to take people arriving on June 23th in the afternoon from the airport, and also to bring them to the airport on June 27th in the afternoon. The exact schedule of this us depends on you, so please send us a mail to notify your exact time of arrival/departure.

What you will not find on the Web site is information on renting a car from the airport. Here are phone/fax numbers of rental companies:

By train

You can find out about schedules, make reservations or even buy SNCF tickets (don't forget we can send you a reduction coupon!) on the (English) SNCF Web site. The Brest railway station is located in the center, only 5-10 minutes by foot away from place de la Liberté:

Take Boulevard Clemenceau which is just in front of the Railway Station, to the right, follow this boulevard until Square Liberté, and from there take bus 14:

and get down at station "Europe":

The ride takes about 20 minutes and costs 1 euro. You can find the schedule of bus 14 below.

Please be aware of the fact that we are hiring a bus to take people arriving on June 23th in the afternoon from the railway station, and also to bring them to the railway station on June 27th in the afternoon. By car

Brest is located here:

To get there by car from continental Europe there are three main ways: from the North, through Amiens, the bridge of Normandy (Le Havre), Rennes; from the East, through Paris and Rennes; from the South, through Nantes and Quimper, as in the map below:

There is also the possibility of taking the boat from Ireland or UK, to Roscoff. Once you are in Brest here is how to get to ENST Bretagne:

Two possibilities:

  • if you arrive from the East (Rennes, Morlaix, etc.), then follow Brest until you get to a big roundabout. From there on take direction "Technopôle Brest Iroise" (alternatively you will see "Plouzané", this is the village next to the Technopôle). Following these directions, at some time you will be on "Route du Conquet" (the road going to Le Conquet): you will see on your left a big company called "Thales," then a big shop with plants and flowers called "Baobab". After "Baobab" there is still one big roundabout, take the direction "Le Conquet", and about 1 km after that you must be careful to leave the road, following direction "Technopôle Brest Iroise, Site de la Pointe du Diable". Once out of the road, take left (over the bridge), continue on that road for another 1 km, and you will see ENST Bretagne on your right, at the first roundabout.
  • if you arrive from the South (Nantes, Quimper, etc.) the follow Brest. After the big bridge of Brest, take the direction "Brest, Centre" (or "Port de commerce"), this will lead you to the center of Brest, follow the signs "Gare SNCF," and once you are in front of the railway station follow direction "Le Conquet." This will get you though Brest and on Route du Conquet. At some point you will see on your left a big company called "Thales," then a big shop with plants and flowers called "Baobab".
If for any reason you are lost, ask for "Plouzané", "Technopôle", "ENST", "Sup Télécom". Don't bother learning Breton language, very few people speak it, you'll better ask in French or English.

If you want a detailed route to follow, try using Mappy.
